Whoa! I went kayaking up in the San Juans one summer and that is exactly the experience I did NOT want! I didn't get it either although when we went out for a whale watch in a real boat the entire population showed up and swam under the boat. It was cool.
I went sea kayaking up in the San Juans one summer....that's the experience I wanted! (But alas, not one orca was spotted. So I will have to go back!)
