Is it Sexxy Betty or Louise?

the votes are in... it's a tie. of course. We couldn't just be done could we? That would have been too simple. Last time, vote your fave of the two You'll have until Tuesday night to vote ( may 1st)
Louise & Butch
Originally inspired by Thelma and Louise. I have always loved Susan Sarandon. A friend of mine and Bigun have always said that if my life were ever to be made into a movie - Susan Sarandon would be the only person who could play me. The bike is a boy though so Thelma (sorry Geena) couldn't work....hence Butch came to be. ( BTW my middle name is also Louise)
name is courtesy of Greeneyed Lady

Sexxy Betty & Fred
This one comes from Betty from the flintstones - she always wore blue. Bam Bam was suggested for the bike, but I always thought Fred had a thing for Betty afterall, she's Sexxy
name is courtesy of Blink

Smackdown

It's time. Time for St. Anthony's. It's time for the bell to toll. Bigun has been waiting a year for this. Last year, St Anthony's was tough. It was tough for all who participated. The water was so rough that people were going down and had to be rescued left and right. Even seasoned veterans were found fighting for every stroke. This year, St. Anthony will be put in it's place. It's proper understanding of just who is really who. Chin up St. Anthony. This year, Bigun is here to Kick your ass. Bigun is here to throw you so hard to the mat you won't be able to walk again for a full year! Are you ready?

It scared me to watch the number of people who were being pulled from the water last year. I kept holding my breath hoping that Bigun would not be one of them. To my relief, he pulled himself from the water as it threw him to the stairs. Literally, threw him. I watched the water push him under and then lift him up as he was reaching for the railing. I was standing less than 10 feet from him when I saw his hand shoot out of the water and grab for something, anything to help him out of the water. I was so happy! So damned happy words wouldn't begin to describe the elation I felt at that very moment. The moment I knew my man was going to arrive safe on land and finish this race. You see, if he could make it through the water, he could make it through the race. Okay, so St. Anthony was teaching a class in humility. That's alright. We can live with that. For now. Until next time...
Here we are again. St. Anthony's. Bigun is going to KICK. IT'S. ASS. That's right, I said it. He's going to kick it's ass. Can I get a BIG "Hot Damn!!" How about huge "WooHoo!!!!" I have watched Bigun grow as an athlete in leaps and bounds this past year. The difference in him from last year is remarkable. As an endurance athlete he epitomises growth. His waist line has shrunk but his heart and his mind have grown. In leaps and bounds. This will be his 3rd season as a triathlete and it is just a marker of what is to come. I am so proud of him. Let me hear it ya'll ! "YeeeHaww!!"

Many of you get to see the jokester and the funny man. That is him. He's funny. Very funny. (I'm always laughin' on the inside) With that funny man comes an incredible heart. A heart filled with determination, drive, integrity and strength. Next weekend he's going to draw from that strength and smack St. Anthony's right into next year. I cannot wait!!
You'll see me, Boo and Perez standing fence side hollering and cheering as loud as we can. We'll be yelling for Bigun and Perez's hubby Luke, Tomboy's hubby "Excelman now aka Brickman" Sporting the pom poms and cowbells. If you see us there, make sure you stop by and say hello! We'll be there cheering for all of the athletes. Every athlete there has a huge investment in this sport. An investment of mind, body and time. We love seeing them all stretching and reaching for their goal.`

Name The Duo - (edited)

This is her - The Mini - with her new friend (my old friend), Thee Lemond

So- I have had a few ideas tossed in the ring for her new name.
Trimama suggested : N-V
Blink suggested : Betty - on the Flintstones - she was the sexiest and she always wore blue (Sexy Betty?)
Tri Dummy has suggested: Domino -for that hardcore bounty hunter chick, who was English and a former model, btw.
Comm suggested : lil'gun

The winner of this contest will receive this T-Shirt....

Now, a little more about her/me. She is sassy. Ancient History/Mythological buff.( all brands) Celtic might be a way to go due to the British background but not necessary. Artist. Novice Tarot reader. Former Vegetarian. Favorite Authors - JD Salinger, CS Lewis, S King, D Koontz, Richard Bach, Chrichton, Yeats, Dickens, A Rice, A Rand, Homer, Poe in no certain order and not by any means the only faves. They come to mind quickly. While on the subject of entertainment - movies are a great source of inspiration too. Ask me about any movie. Go ahead, ask me...
Remember, we need a name for Him too. You know, the Lemond. Lets not forget and leave him out of the mix....

Looking forward to your ideas. Thanks in advance for the brain power you are about to issue forth on this. Also, you can make as many suggestions as you like!! I am going to steal a page from Tri Dummy. Once it is narrowed down to the top 5 pair of names, we'll have a vote for everyone! Not sure yet what the winner will get, but I promise, we'll make it good!! ( I reserve the right to mix and match his/her name selection) ;)

While I'm here I also have to tell you ....Tomorrow (April 15) is the beginning of race season for the Bigun household!!! I am so completely psyched! I love race days. This year, I can add cowbells to the pom poms!!! LOL

Seriously. I. am. So. Serious on the cowbell. They're imported from Norway. They really know how to make cowbells in Norway. When are you coming to FL for a race?

Irony

Cut to "Hard Rain" starring Christian Slater, Morgan Freeman, Minnie Driver and Randy Quaid. Got it? Great movie. It's playing on TNT right now.
Now, transition back to 4:30 am this morning. It's drizzling out. It has obviously rained. The weather channel is showing a harsh wall of rain making it's way steadily towards Orlando. Predicted winds up to 35 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. Are you seeing the irony yet? Bigun has his first race of the season this morning in Clermont. Clermont lies between us and Orlando. Smack dab in the middle of the Hard Rain.

Being the kind, considerate guy he is, Bigun didn't bother to wake me until he was ready to leave this morning. I jumped up to see the weather report. He was right. I wouldn't be able to cheer him on. Not in that sort of weather. I kissed him goodbye and went back to bed. My warm, cozy, comfortable bed. I pulled the blankets up and was asleep with the sound of Bigun's truck pulling out of the driveway.

Don't get me wrong. I was looking forward to shaking the pom poms and ringing the cowbells for him. Really. I was. Really. I swear. Here's the thing - standing in the rain, waving soggy pom poms isn't my idea of fun.
Instead, I am watching "Hard Rain" on TV and cracking up at Brisco, the cat (who believes he's a dog). He's got these little white "mice" toys. He's just discovered that they are full of cat nip. There's 5 of them, one of him. It's like watching a popcorn machine at the movie theatre. Little white mice jumping up into the air and dropping down all around him. He doesn't know which one to go for next. Cheap entertainment. Doesn't get much better than this.

If Sommer Sports didn't cancel the race this morning - Bigun is competing in sideways rain and high winds. Sans Cowbells. While I watch Brisco drool all over his little mice. Mice covered with white rabbit fur and filled with yummy, yummy, get me high, catnip. Have you ever seen a cat with "the Munchies"? That's the phase he'll be entering momentarily. After he thinks he's satiated the munchies he's going to roll over on his back, his eyes will roll back in his head and he'll pass out. Wait. Commercial about cat litter. There must be 20 cats in the commercial. He's pouncing up trying to "jump" the cats on the screen!!! WTF He's never even noticed the TV before. He must have been sucked in by the meowing. He thoroughly believes he is a dog. No doubt that right now, he's suffering from the delusion of being a big black Lab. Commercial is over. "Hey! Where the hell did all of those cats go!?!?!?" ROTFLMAO "I'm hungry." he's meandering over to the food bowl. I hope he can jump up the 4 feet needed to get to the bowl. He's looking at me like I should get up and get the bowl for him!! Oh, right. That's gonna happen. Now - he's all over me. Licking my face. Nope, that's not gonna work either. I like it just fine right here. Go pass out would ya?

Back to Bigun. I hope he's doing okay out there. I can't imagine they would run a race in the conditions the storm brought. Then again, you know how men are. They'll do it just to prove they have a bigger...um...I mean to prove that no storm is big enough or bad enough to shut down a Triathlete. After all, they ARE "endurance" athletes aren't they? Does that make me a "fair weather fan"? If so, it's okay. I can live with it.
I'll just sit and finish watching "Hard Rain".

"Rain, rain on my face. Hasn't stopped raining for days...Lift me up, when I'm falling...Lift me up..." song is FLOOD - By Jars Of Clay -LOVE that song.

Nice Cleavage

Okay....keep watching.....she has now taken up residence with us. She needs a name. I'll be posting some pics of her and her new friend ( red Lemond)...

To give you an idea of her personality, she's really HAWT. Totally sexy. Her engine doesn't purr, it growls. A sound system to die for. She can handle a turn or a curve like a hot knife through butter. Comfortable as all get out. But man oh man, check out her cleavage!! I haven't even mentioned her booty!!

My Lovely Rose Colored Sunglasses Haven't Let Me Down Yet.

I love seeing life as a possibility!! LOVE it!!

For example, check out the pics of my new ride. They were taken today in the rain. Much needed rain BTW. I'll include shots of my Bike in the next post concerning the new ride. The bike is a Lemond Tourmalet. Red. It might need a new paint job now... it might clash with the car. Actually, red looks good with everything. Not to mention, red is fast. LOL

So, while I've got you here...start thinking of a name for the Car - Bike Combo. They'll have to be individual names but complimentary don't you think? If you want to know anything about me, check out It's All About Me that should give you some insight. I do usually think of my modes of transport as girls. But, even though my bike is red, I have sort of thought of it as a he. The car however, she's all girl!!

Rose colored Sun Glasses

My sister is coming into town this weekend for an extended 5 1/2 day weekend. Actually, I suppose it's more like a shortened week. She hasn't taken a vacation in eons. Never by herself without her 16 year old son. She's a single mom. Her husband disappeared. Literally. Disappeared. He doesn't want to be found. He's never paid a penny of child support and has never seen his son's face since he was a newborn. My sister has never complained about her situation and she has never expected a hand out. I am so proud of her. She has raised a son all on her own and managed through thick and thin with her head up.
Back to her vacation. I hope I can show my sister a great vacation. She's quite different from me in many respects and quite like me in others. She is a planner. A detailed planner. ( all I ever plan on is when to get out of bed for the next day) Checks the weather here in Florida, for example, all week long. Everyday before she gets on the plane on Friday morning. Me. Well, lets just say, I expect everyday to be sunshine. Rose colored sun glasses are permanently attached to my head in a way. My sis told me today that it was going to be chilly while she was here. Huh? What do you mean chilly? It's never chilly in Florida. In April. She MUST be watching the wrong Tampa Weather report. I'm certain. Absolutely, warm and sunny. That's what I have willed for the weather. By Crikey, it will be. Atleast for a few hours... right?
See, here's my dilemma. I want to show her a rippin' good time. She doesn't like rollercoasters. I do. She doesn't like boating. I do. she doesn't like drinking. Oh boy do I ever. She's not a big swimmer. She's a brainiac kind of girl. I'm an ESPN OCHO kind of girl. So, I'm not really sure how to make sure she has a good time. Geez, I live in Florida so that I can go on vacation with everyone who comes here for their vacation. How'd this one slip through the cracks?

My idea of what is a great time is totally different from hers. I think what's going to happen is my built in bookcases will see completion. The leftover painting may be completed. My various "chores" around the house can see the light at the end of an extremely long tunnel. I sort of feel guilty about making her help me with chores on her vacation. Isn't she on vacation to get away from that sort of crap? She said that's what she wants to do though. She's really different from me now that I give it serious thought. I can't think of how we are alike in Any way. Can't wait for her to get here. I am taking a few days off of work to do house work. How'd that happen? IDMTFFT! Damn. She's smart. Told you, brainiac. I'm supposed to be the older one. When did we switch roles? I'm making her go to the beach tomorrow when we leave the airport. It will be warm. It will be sunny. Me and my rose colored sun glasses have decided.

Oh - yes, There are more photos...

In this photo Curt and Linda (who will now be referred to as Excelman and Tomboy) are in the kayak in the front, Bigun and I are in the back. This was shot with an underwater camera. That's why it's so blurry...

This is a shot of the group we were with silhouetted against the sunset. Keep in mind, shot with an underwater again.

Diane and Dennis (our guides) took photos during the trip and for practicality their cameras are encased in a plastic underwater protector. It skews the images slightly when you are out of the water. Hence the slightly misty look of the shots. At the end of the trip, Dennis downloads all of the pictures onto a CD that you can take with you as a memory of the trip. They are sending us a second CD because there was a little snafu and only a portion of the pictures downloaded. You know what that means don't you? Oh yes...more to come.

Kayak Trip at Sunset

Well. Here we are Sunday morning. And I feel great. Bigun and myself went out onto the water last night in kayaks for a little Sunset show. Nature is amazing. Truly, it is. Bigun and I live on a very modest sized lake. Up north, we would have called it a pond. But, we live in Florida and so, it is a lake. It's about 13 acres so it's not tiny by any sense. But it is.

I grew up believing that the Finger Lakes were relatively small in comparison to other lakes. The Finger Lakes, not small. Seneca Lake for example, holds the largest volume of water of all of the Finger Lakes. One of my sisters was born in Geneva, NY at the northern tip of the lake. We lived somewhere near the middle in Romulus and we were regulars at the Glen. Watkins Glen that is ( for those of you who follow Racing).
Watkins sits at the southern most tip of the lake. If you took a boat from Geneva to Watkins it would be a 38 mile ride. By car, well, it's a lot more. The lake is 3 miles wide, so you could see how beautiful it is on the shore opposite of wherever you happened to be. A little known fact is that not only does Seneca Lake support Land Locked Atlantic salmon but it also produces wine that many of us enjoy on a regular basis. Seneca Lake alone supports 52 wineries. 52. Can you believe it? That's not counting the wineries supported by the other 3 lakes. 94 wineries all tolled. Those of you who have never been to upstate NY for the wineries, you are missing out my friends. There is nothing like it. It's pristine, beautiful country. Still.

Sorry, I am full of all kinds of bits of trivia and such.Often times, I get distracted by it.
I digress. This post is about our Kayak trip last night on the Gulf. It was so beautiful out there. The wildlife was scattered all around us. We were able to glimpse a dolphin herding mullet out of the inlet into the school of dolphins waiting somewhere beyond our visual line. The birds ofcourse were abundant. We saw an Osprey diving and actually catch a fish for his evening meal. We went out to a little island to pause for a few minutes and enjoy cheese and crackers with a little Sparkling Grape Juice. Okay, I brought a six pack but the Tour Guides don't advocate drinking on these trips.

Our Guides, Dennis and Diane Peters, were incredibly nice and so very personable. They are living their dream. Kayaking daily and sharing their love of the water with anyone willing to ask. Diane was a plethora of information. She was telling us about the different varieties of birds and their habits etc. I love that sort of stuff. It's banked away now in my UBK (that would be Useless Bank Of Knowledge) in other words, my brain. Yes folks, I am full of it. In more ways than one as Bigun likes to remind me. Full of it. Just what "it" is has yet to be determined.

Kayaking on the Gulf is definitely something I would enjoy doing as often as possible. The couple who own Simply Kayaking offer you a great deal. Purchase your Kayak through them and you can tour with them whenever you like, at no charge. They really are a great couple.
Speaking of great couples, Linda and Curt, the couple who invited us on this trip, are great. I could go into another entire post about Linda and myself....can you hear the twilight zone music playing hauntingly in the background? Oh yeah. It's truly a bizarre story. Like I said, it's a post entirely on it's own. Hell, probably 5 or 6 posts. LOL

In the mean time, enjoy the view......
